Must Have Shots At Your Newborn Session
Whether you’ve already hired your Boston newborn photographer or you’re thinking about hiring one, you want to make sure you’re getting someone who is going to capture everything that is most important to you. If you’re not sure what those things are, here are the shots that I think are must haves for your newborn photography session!
Your Baby on their own
They are what it’s all about, after all! You absolutely want your photographer to capture your baby alone, assuming your baby will allow it. Not every baby wants to be put down, but most will let you get a few pictures in their crib or on your bed.
Tiny hands and feet
Without these images, it’s very unlikely that you’ll remember just how tiny your newborn once was. Put them next to adult hands for scale, and you’ll be blown away in a few years that your baby was ever that small.
The sibling shot
Not every newborn session involves a sibling, but when they do, they’re extra adorable. Sometimes big siblings are all in and sometimes they’re hesitant to participate. Either way, getting a shot of them with their new sibling is something you definitely want. I love having the older sibling hold the baby or lay next to them on the bed.
Nursery Details
Most people, especially if it’s your first baby, spend a lot of time decorating their little one’s new bedroom. The hard work you put into their space should absolutely be documented!
Parent snuggles
Maybe I’m biased as a parent, but I think these are some of the most important shots. You loving on your baby is what having a baby is all about, so you definitely want those moments captured. I usually parents to snuggle, kiss, and talk to their babies to get some really beautiful bonding moments.
Furry friends
It wouldn’t truly be family photos without your pets involved! Pets can’t always come to outdoor photo sessions but when we’re taking photos in your home, they are the perfect addition.
The whole family
And finally, of course, you absolutely want photos of your whole family all together.
