Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How would you describe your photography style?
A: I would definitely call myself a lifestyle photographer! You won’t find me using props or putting you into overly posed positions. I want to capture natural moments that are less manufactured than what some other photographers aim for. But don’t worry! I’ll still give you direction and help you look your best. As for editing style, I’d say my photographs are bright, colorful, and true to color.
Q: How far out are you booking?
A: It varies a lot. During most of the year, I’m booking 2-4 weeks out. During the fall I am typically booked several months out. I send an email to my mailing list to open up fall spots sometime at the beginning of the summer. Reaching out early is always better, but it’s always worth asking if I have a spot available!
Q: How much does it cost to have you photograph my family/wedding/baby?
A: Check out my pricing page for more details! If you can’t find what you’re looking for, send me a message and we’ll talk about your specific situation. I also offer a LGBTQ+ discount.
Q: My toddler/child is very active. How will you get them to participate?
A: The advantage to hiring me over other photographers is that I actually work as a pediatric occupational therapist as my full time job and know a whole lot about child development! I’m very good at giving your child a chance to move between shots and getting candids as they go. I will follow their lead, rather than forcing them to sit still and smile. Chances are, I’ll get a lot more photos of your child smiling and enjoying themselves than you think.
Q: My partner and I are so nervous about posing. Can you help us?
A: Absolutely! You are welcome to share some poses with me that you like if it’s something you feel strongly about, but otherwise I’ll do the hard work. Typically I’ll get you comfortable in a certain spot and then let you chat with each other as I get some photos. I might give you some simple prompting if you look nervous or tense. My goal is for you to feel natural and be relaxed!
Q: When will I get my photos? How will you get them to me?
A: For family, engagement, and newborn photos, the turnaround time is typically 2-3 weeks. For larger events and weddings, it is about 4-6 weeks. These timelines can extend during the busy fall season. You will receive an online, password protected gallery via email, which gives you access to high resolution downloads and the option to buy prints.
Q: How far will you travel to take my photos?
A: I do the majority of my sessions within a half hour of Boston. Outside of that radius, there are minimal travel fees to cover costs.
